Our inaugural spoken word event (or Wordforge as we've been calling it) was a really beautiful evening. It was a perfect summer evening, the stage was put together by a couple of our Forge Angels, and it was the first event where the directors could actually relax, be part of the audience, and take stock of what we've created together!
We had poets, storytellers, singers, and even a few dad jokes. Performers were everything from complete first-timers, to published authors and poets.
The next one should be happening in August so please keep across our Facebook page for updates and schedules.
Our first permaculture market was a wonderful event! We had jewellery, seaglass art, bike repair, a fix-it station and a whole permaculture information stand.
Permaculture is all about living within our means, supporting each other, and not having everything mass produced and bought from a store. We're hoping that this will be a regular event at The Forge :)
We welcomed the community in for the first time on Saturday for our plant swap event. We did this as a 'soft launch' and were totally delighted by the number of people that came along to see us, chat, and bring plants to swap.
The sun was shining and, despite clashing with the Portsoy Boat Festival, we had over fifty people come through the gate to see us.
And an outdoor shelter! And three massive planters!
Finally we're at the stage where the site is mostly clear, and we've been able to assemble and get the yard well on the path to completion.
It's so wonderful to have got to this stage and, although there is still plenty to be done, we can't thank all of our amazing helpers (AKA Forge Angels) enough for all the assistance we've received!
